My Dark Prince
Chapter 1:
Yamcha was late, yet again, to pick her up for their date. Bulma paced the living room, muttering to herself, wondering why she put up with him. He was already thirty minutes late. When the time had stretched into an hour, Bulma threw up her hands in disgust. Resigned to the fact that Yamcha had stood her up again, Bulma slowly made her way to her room. Flinging herself on her bed, she grabbed the control for her television and turned to the channel that was showing the concert that Yamcha was supposed to take her to. Sighing, Bulma watched the concert through tear-filled eyes.
Halfway through the concert, Bulma quickly sat up, staring at the screen. There, amidst all the screaming fans, was Yamcha, a pretty blonde woman plastered against him.
"That bastard!" Bulma screamed. "He took that bimbo to the concert and forgot about me??!!!"
Furious, Bulma flung the remote at the television, shattering them both.
Vegita, hearing the sudden noise, flew in the direction he had heard it. Finding himself at Bulma's window, Vegita sneered in disgust and went back to resume his training. 'Obviously, that baka of a boyfriend of hers has once again set her anger flaring.' he thought as he powered up another blast. He quickly turned his thoughts to his training, ignoring the sounds of destruction coming from Bulma's room.
After the remote, Bulma flung every picture she could find of Yamcha at the wall or the window.
Finding that she had run out of things to break, Bulma sat amidst the broken glass and cried. She had thought that she had found her 'Prince Charming'. Yamcha had been her first boyfriend, her first lover and one of her closest friends. Now he had betrayed her. Every other time that he had cheated on her, Bulma had taken him back with open arms. She had believed him when he told her that the other women meant nothing to him. She had believed him when he reasoned that she had lost her temper when they last spoke, and he felt that they had broken up. She had believed his lies, and let him manipulate her.
"Never, again!" Bulma screamed. "Never again will I let him hurt me!"
Exhausted, Bulma fell asleep.
The next morning Bulma knew that she would have to confront Yamcha about his unfaithfulness. She knew that she had to make him pay. She had to hurt him as he had hurt her, but she didn't want to sink to his level. She wasn't going to take him back just to cheat on him. Bulma had more pride and honor than that. Still trying to come up with a plan, Bulma went down to breakfast.
Vegita was hungry. He knew that every morning Bulma's mother would cook a big breakfast for everyone, including him, Normally, he would join the Briefs for the morning meal, but after hearing Bulma destroy her room, and then cry herself to sleep, Vegita didn't really feel like sitting around listening to her whine about her problems. It ruined his appetite. Hoping to escape having to listen to Bulma, Vegita entered the kitchen earlier than usual.
"I'll have my meal in the gravity room." Vegita announced to Bulma's mother.
"Oh, Vegita!" Bulma's mother squealed. "Won't you please come and eat with us. There's plenty of room."
Seeing that Bulma had not come down yet, he agreed. Sitting down at the table, Vegita cringed inwardly as Bulma swept into the kitchen. Surprisingly enough, she didn't pay Vegita any mind. He wondered at this. Usually, Bulma would have done something to annoy him the moment she entered the room. All through the meal, however, Bulma was very quiet. Vegita wasn't about to lower himself to speak to her first, so he ate his meal quickly and neatly, and left.
Bulma was still trying to figure out jut how she could hurt Yamcha. Physically, it was almost impossible. Yamcha was many times stronger than she was, and pulling his ear wouldn't hurt him as much as he had hurt her. Tired of trying to come up with a way to hurt Yamcha, Bulma decided to let her instincts guide her, and quickly set out to work in her lab. Tinkering with her inventions helped take Bulma's mind off of her situation.
Vegita was hard at work, striving to break the barrier that kept him from his goal. He couldn't concentrate. There was something not right. Vegita was getting the feeling that something was about to happen. Turning the gravity machine off, Vegita walked outside. Scanning the area, Vegita became confused. Scowling at the empty sky, Vegita turned to re-enter the gravity room, when he caught the scent of something. Sniffing the air around him, Vegita tried to figure out what was so familiar about the scent in the air. Finally, Vegita smirked and walked back into the gravity room. 'I can smell a battle coming.' he thought, once again resuming his training. 'That must mean that the woman and that weakling are going to have it out again soon. This should be fun to watch.'
The day passed quickly. Bulma was just cleaning up before going to dinner when Yamcha called.
"Hey, babe." Yamcha laughed. "Why don't we go out to dinner tonight?"
"Why,Yamcha?" Bulma asked quietly. "You stood me up last night."
"Oh, right." Yamcha said quickly. "I'm sorry about that. I'll explain tonight at dinner, okay?"
"Sure." Bulma shrugged. "I'll be ready in about an hour or so."
"See you then." Yamcha smiled, thinking that he had gotten away with his 'little' mess up.
Bulma hung up the phone, and went to wash up for her 'date'. Suddenly she knew just what to do. Smiling, Bulma stepped into her hot shower. 'Yamcha will never forget this.'
Vegita was curious. He had heard Bulma singing in the shower as he passed her bedroom on his way to his own. 'Why is she happy all of the sudden?' he thought. 'She couldn't have made up with that weakling already. I haven't heard her screaming at him yet.' Knowing that he just had to figure this out, Vegita cleaned up for dinner. He would grace them with his presence and find out what was going on.
Chapter 2:
Not wanting to wait in the dining room, Vegita settled himself on the couch. 'Dinner should be ready soon.' Vegita thought. 'Then I'll find out what is going on with that woman and her baka boyfriend.'
Vegita had no sooner finished his thought than Bulma came downstairs. He almost lost his look of royal boredom when he saw her. 'How beautiful.' Vegita thought. 'Now wait a minute...' Vegita shook his head to rid himself of the disturbing thought.
Bulma was sure that Yamcha wouldn't be able to resist her. Her dress was a deep shade of green, a very modest dress, if you overlooked the slit that went up past mid-thigh. Confident that her plan would work, Bulma went to see if her mother needed any help with dinner.
"Why dear, do you have a date?" her mother asked, when she saw her.
"No, but Yamcha is coming over to talk with me." Bulma answered.
"Oh, then why don't you wait in the living room with Vegita." her mother suggested. "Dinner will be ready shortly."
Taking her mother's advice, Bulma wandered into the living room. Just as she passed Vegita, the doorbell rang. Taking a deep breath, Bulma turned back and went to answer the door.
Yamcha stood there wearing a nice pair of jeans and a dress shirt with a blazer slung over his shoulder. Bulma stopped to look at how nice he cleaned up.
"Hello Bulma." Yamcha greeted her.
"Hello Yamcha."
"Look Bulma," Yamcha started, looking at his shoes, "well, um..."
"Hai, Yamcha?"
"Well," Yamcha tried again. "I'm really sorry that I stood you up yesterday."
"You are?" Bulma asked sweetly.
"Hai." Yamcha answered. "I should have remembered and not gotten so caught up in my training."
"Oh, how selfish of me." Bulma gasped. "Here you are training to save the world from terrible androids and I'm getting mad because you miss one little date." This was going just as Bulma had planned.
"That's okay." Yamcha reassured her. "I'll take you somewhere nice tonight to make it up to you."
Suddenly, Bulma hugged him. Sure that he had gotten away with cheating on her again, Yamcha pulled her closer.
Softly Bulma whispered into Yamcha's ear. "But what about the blonde you took to the concert last night?"
Not waiting for an answer, Bulma brought her knee up into Yamcha's crotch. Using all of her strength, Bulma decked him square in the nose and pushed him out of the door.
"I'm through, Yamcha." Bulma told him, her tone quiet and cold. "I'm through with your lies, your cheating and you."
Yamcha lay on his back in the yard, still unsure of what hit him. Bulma shut the door quietly and went to the dining room where dinner was being served.
Vegita smirked as she entered the room. With his Sayjin hearing, Vegita had heard everything. He was surprised and very amused at Bulma's method of letting Yamcha know it was over. 'That was so...Sayjin-like.' Vegita thought. 'Letting him think everything was fine, and then Wham!'
Dinner was unusually quiet. Bulma answered her mother's questions with as few words as possible. She just wasn't in the mood for her mother's chatter.
When dinner was over, Bulma excused herself and headed for her lab. 'Strange.' she thought. 'I just dumped the supposed love of my life, and I feel nothing. Shouldn't I be upset? Every other time we broke up I cried myself sick. Now, I just feel empty.' Pushing the unusual thoughts to the back of her head, Bulma set to work on her latest project, an update for the gravity room.
Meanwhile, Vegita had headed to the gravity room. 'What is with that woman?' he thought, absently. 'Why is she acting like nothing happened? Why is she not whining her eyes out? Why do I care?' Vegita dismissed his thoughts and entered the gravity room. Turning the gravity up, he began his work out.
The days went by and Bulma still had not cried over the absence of Yamcha. Vegita's thoughts strayed more and more to Bulma. Disgusted by his weak thoughts, Vegita trained harder than ever. Bulma planned project after project, keeping herself as busy as possible trying to ignore the empty feeling inside her.
It was on one of these days that Bulma found something that captured her attention. Buried in her desk was the scouter of Raditz's that she had modified. Wondering what she could possibly do with it, Bulma set out to find Vegita. Before she could reach the gravity room, Bulma spotted something.
'Now how could I have missed that?' she wondered. There amidst all the intricate components of the scouter was what looked like a miniature hard drive. Running back to her lab, Bulma quickly started trying to find a way to link the tiny hard drive to her computer.
"Sugoi!" Bulma shouted triumphantly, after four hours of tinkering. Too excited to break for lunch, Bulma started searching through the files that she'd discovered.
A few hours later, Bulma's shoulders were slumped in defeat. All of the files were written in some strange language. Knowing that Vegita had once had a scouter, Bulma figured that he should be able to read this strange language. Deciding that it was time to get ready for dinner, Bulma left her lab.
Vegita had begun eating dinner with Bulma's family. It was annoying to sit and listen to their inane chatter throughout his meal, but it was better than the deafening silence that surrounded him when he ate alone. At least their blabbering kept his disturbing thoughts of Bulma from surfacing.
Chapter 3:
Settling down for dinner, Bulma glanced over at Vegita. It wasn't that she was afraid of him, she just felt nervous at the prospect of working alone with him in order to decipher the files from the scouter.
Finished with his dinner, Vegita stood to leave when Bulma grabbed his arm.
"What do you want woman?" Vegita snarled before she could say a word.
"I need to speak to you in my lab." Bulma answered quickly.
Shrugging his arm from Bulma's grasp, Vegita followed her, wondering what she needed to talk to him about. Walking to her computer, Bulma pulled up the first file from the scouter.
"I need you to tell me what this says." Bulma said, turning to face Vegita.
"It's in the Sayjin language." Vegita growled, his eyes narrowing. "Where did you get this?"
"I found it in the hard drive of Raditz's scouter." Bulma explained. "I need to translate it."
"Why?" Vegita demanded.
"Maybe I can modify the gravity room to make your training more like what you're used to."
"Why?" Vegita demanded again.
"Because I'm bored." Bulma sighed. "I need a new challenge."
'How Sayjin-like.' Vegita thought. 'Always needing a bigger challenge. Although her challenges are not physical.'
Vegita humphed and turned to the computer. Quickly scanning the file, Vegita's eyes widened.
"This is a file containing the schematics for a space pod." Vegita growled.
"Well could you teach me the Sayjin language so that I can see if there is anything I can play with in these files?" Bulma asked holding her breath. When Vegita didn't reply Bulma tried again.
"You're the only one that can teach me. And maybe these files will give me an idea for another upgrade on the gravity machine, or are you not smart enough to teach it?" That got Vegita's attention.
"Okay." Vegita grumbled. "I'll teach you, but if you can't learn it that's not my problem."
"I can learn anything you can teach me!" Bulma shouted.
"We'll see." Vegita smirked.
As Vegita began Bulma's lessons in his native tongue, his disturbing thoughts of her increased. Determined not to fail Bulma's challenge, Vegita crammed the thoughts to the back of his mind. He had to admit, if only to himself, that she caught on rather quickly. Within a month, Bulma could carry on a conversation.
Another month and Bulma was ready to decipher the files she had found. Giddy with excitement, Bulma found out plenty of useful information. Much of it explained Vegita's attitude.
A week after Vegita finished his lessons with Bulma, he began to feel restless. Wondering towards the gravity room, Vegita was surprised to see Bulma tinkering with it.
"What are you doing, woman?" Vegita demanded.
"I'm upgrading the gravity room, bakayaro!" Bulma yelled. "You'll just have to go play somewhere else."
"Finish it quickly." Vegita commanded. "I need to train."
"It'll be finished when it's finished and not a minute before then!" Bulma shouted, shaking her fist at him.
Vegita humphed and flew off. Cursing in several languages, Bulma got back to work. 'He'll just love this little surprise.' Bulma giggled softly. 'I just can't wait to see his face tomorrow!'
Vegita grumbled to himself as he looked for a spot to train. 'Why does that woman always have to interrupt my training? Can't she leave anything alone? Baka, when the damn gravity room needs fixing I'll tell her. What is she doing to it now?'
Vegita spent the rest of his day in a bad mood. Bulma, however, was unusually happy.
The next morning, after breakfast was over, Bulma leaned over and whispered into Vegita's ear.
"I'm finished with the gravity room, Vegita." she growled softly in the Sayjin language. "It's all yours."
Ignoring the shivers racing up his spine, Vegita grunted his approval and headed for the gravity room. Wondering what Bulma could have possibly done, Vegita opened the door slowly. Seeing nothing different, he stepped inside. 'If that bakawoman didn't change anything, why did she have to spend all day here?' Vegita wondered.
Angry that he had missed a day of training in gravity for nothing, Vegita punched the sequence to activate the gravity machine.
"5...4...3...2...1." Bulma counted down. As if on cue, Vegita barged through the doors to her lab.
"Woman!" Vegita roared, his eyes narrowed dangerously.
"Hai, Vegita?" Bulma turned to face him desperately trying to contain her mirth.
"What did you do to my gravity room?" Vegita demanded, stalking towards her.
Bulma stood silent, her eyes drifting over his body, watching him near her. 'Kami, he looks so good angry.' she thought. A small frown passed over her features as she realized what she had just been thinking.
"Well?" Vegita scowled, stopping a foot form her.
"I thought you'd like it." Bulma's frown deepened.
"Where did you get the idea to do it?" Vegita growled, his displeasure causing him to slip into his native tongue.
"From the descriptions in the files on the scouter." Bulma answered him in kind, finding it easier to speak in the Sayjin language when angry.
"Let me see them." Vegita commanded, stalking over to her computer.
Bulma growled low in her throat as she brought up the files Vegita requested. Quickly scanning the files, Vegita confirmed his thoughts that she could not have come up with the idea from reading these files.
"None of these files describe what you did to my gravity room, woman!" Vegita hollered. "Now where did you get the idea?"
Bulma scowled at him. 'Just where do you think I would get the idea if it wasn't from the files?' she thought. 'It's not like I have a bunch of Sayjins around to ask for ideas. Not to mention I don't have any other knowledge of Planet Vegita.'
"I know that, Woman." Vegita responded without thinking.
"Know what?" Bulma asked, her eyes wide with shock.
"What do you mean know what?" Vegita snarled.
"You said 'I know that.'" Bulma replied in confusion. "But I hadn't said anything."
Chapter 4:
Vegita's eyes briefly widened in shock. Growling, he turned and strode out of the lab. Not wanting to accept what he figured had happened, Vegita returned to the gravity room. Turning the gravity room on once more he took another look at what Bulma had done. 'How could she have known exactly what my training program was when I was a child?' he wondered. 'Nothing's different other than the use of enhanced gravity and stronger opponents.' Dismissing the only possibility, Vegita began his training.
Bulma stood in her lab just as he had left her. 'What just happened?' she asked herself. Shaking her head to clear her thoughts, Bulma started on a new project. She wanted to see if she could find a way to help her friends in the upcoming battle.
Vegita had avoided Bulma for the last week. Now, walking into the kitchen to get himself a snack, he found her.
"Here you go Vegita." Bulma offered, as he passed her on his way to the refrigerator.
"What's is this, woman?" he snapped, glaring at the plate of sandwiches.
"A snack." Bulma shot back. "What so you think it is?"
Vegita just humphed and sat down to devour them.
What is your problem, Vegita?" Bulma demanded, her hands fisted on her hips. "First you demand I make you a snack by announcing that you're hungry. Then when I make your snack you act like I've insulted you."
"I never told you that I was hungry, Woman." Vegita growled, his eyes narrowing dangerously.
Finishing his plate, Vegita left Bulma standing in the middle of the kitchen, speechless. No longer in the mood to train, he took to the sky, looking for a place to figure this all out.
Bulma, coming to her senses, decided to take a nap, thinking that all the late nights in her lab were starting to stress her out.
'What is going on?' Vegita thought, landing on a seemingly deserted island. 'It couldn't be a bond, the woman and I are not even friends much less mates! Sayjins can only bond with other Sayjins anyway.'
Settling himself in the air, Vegita attempted to meditate, something he rarely did. But no matter how hard he tried, he could not stop his thoughts from straying back to Bulma. After a hard battle with his mind, Vegita finally admitted that he found the human woman attractive. Mentally cursing himself up and down, Vegita abruptly realized that he had the advantage.
'The woman doesn't know what power she holds over me.' he thought, smirking. 'If she doesn't know, then she cannot use this power.'
Exhausted from his mental war, Vegita headed back to Capsule Corp. and his bed. Thankful that Bulma was nowhere around as he entered the building, he laid back in his bed and closed his eyes. Sleep took him swiftly, and the images of his dream were as disturbing as they were pleasing.
Bulma had been tossing and turning for hours, her dreams dark and lonely.
(Dream)
The forest was dark and unfamiliar. The silence eerie, as she walked on, her footsteps the only sound. Valiantly trying to stifle her terror, Bulma walked on through the twisted trees. Feeling a presence other than hers, she ran towards it, praying that she wasn't running to her death.
Startled when the ground ended suddenly, Bulma found herself falling. Squeezing her eyes shut, she braced herself for the impact she was certain would come.
"Open your eyes, Woman." a voice growled at her.
Surprised, her eyes shot open, only to see the Sayjin that invaded her thoughts during the day. Once he set her back on her feet, Bulma realized that the scenery had changed. Instead of a dark and foreboding forest, she found herself in front of a crystal clear lake. The sun overhead reflecting in the water. Turning to question Vegita, Bulma caught sight of a magnificent waterfall at the edge of the lake.
"Where are we?" Bulma whispered, still in awe of the beauty around her.
"You tell me, Woman." Vegita snarled. "I was flying around to find out, when you fell into my arms."
"Well, at least I'm safe now." Bulma shrugged, walking towards the lake. "I think I'll just take a quick dip to rinse myself off."
"Just make it quick." Vegita snapped. "I want to find a way out of here."
Sending a quick glare in Vegita's direction, Bulma began to peel off her torn shirt. Cursing Kami, Vegita couldn't take his eyes off her skin slowly being revealed. With one last look at Vegita, Bulma dived gracefully into the cool water.
"Hurry it up, Woman." Vegita shouted a few minutes later.
"Make me you arrogant son of a bitch!" Bulma shot back, swimming farther from the shore.
Smirking, Vegita quickly rid himself of his clothes and dove in after her. Using his superior speed he caught her within seconds.
"Now what are you going to do, Woman?" he taunted.
Smirking very much like Vegita, Bulma moved closer and captured his lips in a searing kiss. Taken off guard, Vegita's mouth opened in shock. Not giving him time to recover his senses, Bulma slipped her tongue in to taste his.
Bulma awoke with a gasp. Sitting up in her bed, she reviewed the dream in her mind. She had kissed Vegita! Even if it was just a dream, she had kissed the man, no the Sayjin, that had been making her life hell for the past year.
In the room down the hall, Vegita had awoken as well. Unlike Bulma, Vegita wasn't surprised. Cursing, he got his clothes on and went to train, hoping to rid himself of the vision of Bulma, naked and pressed against his body.
Bulma had dressed as well, and was headed to her lab.
Chapter 5:
A few hours later, Bulma headed to the kitchen. She couldn't remember ever being this hungry. Quickly gathering the needed foods, she set about cooking as fast as she could. Annoyed that it was taking so long, she began to tap her fingers on the counter.
That was the scene Vegita walked into minutes later. Not understanding what was going on, he simply sat down at the table and waited.
"What do you want, Vegita?" Bulma asked, scowling.
"Where's my food, Woman?" the hungry Sayjin demanded.
"It's cooking you imbecile!" Bulma shouted. "I'm hungry as well, you know. Damn, this is taking too long!"
Shocked, Vegita did not reply. He had not realized that she would start to feel the emotions that he was feeling. 'That is bad.' he thought. 'Now I'll have to tell her about the bond so that she'll understand what she's feeling.'
Cursing, Bulma paced the kitchen. Amused, Vegita simply watched her. When the food was finished, Bulma snatched the pot from the stove, grabbed some utensils and began eating.
"Where's my food, Woman?" Vegita snarled.
Startled, Bulma looked up at him. "In the other pots." she replied.
Vegita grabbed the remaining pots and began to devour his own meal.
The more Vegita ate, the more Bulma lost her appetite. She wasn't disgusted by the way he ate, but lost her appetite none the less. When she couldn't eat anymore, Bulma set her utensils in the sink.
'I'm still a little hungry, but I can't eat anymore.' Bulma wondered about this for a minute. Her thoughts got more confused when the hungry feeling disappeared completely.
The sound of the back door slamming snapped Bulma loose from her thoughts, but only for a moment.
"That's strange." Bulma said aloud. Whispering her confusion aloud, Bulma tried to sort it out. "First, I start hearing him when he's not speaking. Next, I start feeling more hungry than ever even when I can eat no more. Then, the feeling disappears when Vegita finishes eating. Whatever is going on, Vegita has something to do with it. Oh yeah, there was also that weird dream."
Still confused, Bulma decided to talk to Vegita about it when he finished his training. However, when Vegita finished his training, Bulma was still in her lab, totally immersed in her latest invention.
Weeks passed and Bulma had learned to block out the feelings that were not hers, as well as the thoughts. She kept meaning to catch Vegita and asked him what was going on, but somehow she only saw him during meals, which was not the time to talk.
Vegita was purposely avoiding Bulma. He knew that Bulma wanted him to tell her what was going on, but he still did not want to tell her. He knew that she would understand, but he still didn't know if she would return the feelings that he discovered he felt. He had admitted, only in his mind, that what he felt for the woman was deeper than love. But he couldn't just command that she feel the same.
Finally, the inevitable happened. Bulma's parents went on vacation, leaving the two alone for two months. Without Dr. Briefs to fix the gravity room, Vegita couldn't avoid having to talk to Bulma. Without her mother, Vegita would have to suffer through Bulma's cooking, and eating alone with her.
Everything seemed to being going smooth enough, until dinner was over.
"I need to speak with you, Vegita." Bulma announced, as he finished his meal.
"What could you possibly have to say important enough to delay my training?" Vegita growled.
Leaning over the table, her hands planted in front of Vegita, Bulma proceeded to inform him of what had been happening to her.
"I want to know why I keep hearing you when you're not speaking. I want to know why I can feel things that you're feeling. And I want to know why I'm having dreams about things happening to a younger version of you, as well as you as you are now!"
"W-what dreams?" Vegita stuttered.
"Dreams of you blowing things up, being told that your planet is gone, training, being healed, and being beaten." Bulma whispered. "And one dream of you saving me from falling and kissing me."
When Vegita said nothing, Bulma sank in to her chair. "What have you done to me?"
Quietly, Vegita answered her, "I haven't done anything to you."
"Then what is happening?" Bulma questioned, a panicked edge to her voice.
"It's a Sayjin thing." Vegita answered. "A link between two people."
"Explain this to me." Bulma pleaded. "I need to know what is going on."
Vegita took a few minutes to remember all that had been taught to him so long ago. Bonding was one of the things that Vegita hadn't been interested in back then, and now it was a struggle to recall how it had been explained.
"There are different types of links, or bonds, that can exist between people." Vegita began. "One is similar to friendship, where two people can tell if the other is in trouble or hurt. They can also use telepathy to speak to each other. Another is between a parent and a child. This one is one-sided. The parent can tell when the child is in trouble or hurt, but not the other way around. The parent can read the child's mind, but again, not the other way around."
When Vegita paused again to figure out the best way to explain the last type of bond, Bulma started with more questions.
"What kind do we have? Obviously it's not parent and child, but it's something other than friendship."
"I'm not finished, yet." Vegita growled at her.
Realizing that Vegita really didn't want to explain this to her, Bulma nodded silently and waited for him to continue. Finally coming to the conclusion that the best way to tell her was to tell it to her honestly, leaving out nothing, Vegita continued.
"The other bond is a bond between mates." Vegita held up his hand when Bulma went to protest. "They share memories. One has memories of their own past as well as the other's past. They can read each other's thoughts and feelings. They will die without each other. If one ides, the other will follow them into death shortly after. Sayjins do not have a word for love, because this bond is deeper than love." Finished, Vegita looked towards Bulma to see her reaction.
Chapter 6:
Bulma was speechless. 'Does this mean that Vegita loves me? If it does, do I love him?'
Seeing that Bulma was too shocked to say anything, Vegita told her the remaining detail of the bond. "This last bond can never be undone, even by wishes."
Bulma's eyes widened even more. 'It's deeper than love, and can never be broken.' Bulma thought.
"So it's like marriage without divorce?" Bulma asked, unsure if she really wanted to know.
"Yes." Vegita responded, searching her eyes for her reaction.
Closing her eyes, Bulma reviewed her memories of Vegita, trying to figure out his feelings for her. Remembering the way his eyes flashed when they argued, the way that she always felt him near. Figuring that he at least liked her, Bulma tried to figure out her feelings for the dark prince. She was terrified that he wouldn't recover when the gravity room had exploded with him inside of it. She got a thrill from arguing with him. She felt safe with him near. Was that love?
"Well, how does that affect our relationship?" she asked, finally opening her eyes to look at Vegita.
"Like it or not, we're stuck with each other." Vegita snarled, not liking her reaction.
Sensing that Vegita was hurt by her reaction, Bulma walked to Vegita's side. Bending so that her mouth was level with her ear, she whispered seductively.
"And what if we like it?"
With a short growl, Vegita pulled her onto his lap. Remembering the sweet taste of her lips in the dream he had, Vegita wondered what they would taste like in real life. Deciding to take the opportunity handed to him, Vegita gently pressed his lips to hers. Touched by his gentleness, and wanting more, Bulma caressed his lips with her tongue. Vegita gasped at the feel of her tongue. Using this to her advantage, Bulma slipped her tongue inside his mouth, stroking his until he played back.
Suddenly, Vegita roughly broke the kiss, shoving Bulma from him.
"Do not play with me." he snarled, getting up to leave.
"Me?" Bulma screeched. "Me, not play with you? First of all, I did not ask for this to happen! Then you tell me that we are married and there's no such thing as divorce. And when I kiss you to see what could happen between us, you shove me and tell me not to play with you!!"
Even though he was surprised by her words, Vegita did not let it show. Instead, he grabbed her wrists and pinned her against the wall. "So, you wanted to see what it would be like to kiss me?" he challenged, his voice low. "Let me show you."
Capturing her lips, he thrust his tongue in to ravage her mouth. Giving in to the intoxicating feelings, Bulma moaned, her body relaxing against his. Encouraged by her response, Vegita ran his hands down her arms to run his thumbs over her nipples through her shirt. Her hands freed, Bulma gave in to the kiss even more, threading her fingers through Vegita's upswept hair.
Wanting to feel her bare skin, Vegita slid his hands down to the hem of her shirt. Slowly, he brushed his fingers over her stomach. Moaning, Bulma broke the kiss. Uncertain, Vegita pulled his hands back. He was surprised when, instead of pushing him away, she pulled her shirt over her head. Pleased by her actions, he resumed his caressing.
As the sensation of his hands on her skin sent a pulsing heat radiating through her, Bulma began to tug at his clothing. Acknowledging her silent request, Vegita paused his exploration of her to rid himself of his shirt. Purring in pleasure, Bulma pressed herself against his newly bared chest, greedily nipping at his shoulder.
Growling softly, he pushed her to the wall once again. Dipping his head down, he caught one of her nipples in his mouth. Bulma sucked in a deep breath at the feel of his hot mouth, her fingers tangling in his hair. As he turned his attention to her other nipple, Vegita slid his hands down to the waistband of her pants. Wanting more, Bulma pressed her hips towards him. Knowing what she wanted, he quickly rid her of the last barriers that hid her treasure. Unable to wait any longer, she quickly stripped him of his pants, moaning softly when she saw the proof of his desire for her.
Swirling his tongue in her mouth, Vegita brought her legs up to wrap around his hips. Giving no warning, he entered her in one thrust. The intense pleasure blocking out everything, Bulma gave voice to involuntary moans. Wanting to hear more proof of her ecstasy, Vegita increased speed, and lowered his lips to nip at her neck. Digging her nails across his back, Bulma screamed his name as waves of passionate heat threatened to drowned her, mind and body. Unable to hold back, Vegita grabbed her hips as he thrust in deep one last time. Giving her his most precious gift, as he growled her name.
"Should we continue this somewhere more comfortable?" he asked, after his breathing had returned to normal.
Still panting for air, Bulma nodded her head, smiling. Vegita carried her up the stairs towards his room. Laying her on his bed, he saw that she had fallen asleep on the way. Knowing that she hadn't been sleeping well lately, Vegita eased down beside her. Pulling her close, he closed his own eyes to drift off to sleep.
